Discover the wonders of nature every Monday morning with your 3 & 4 year old. Each week features a different theme based on what is growing in the gardens. Begin with story time, and complete the class with a 5-senses outdoor exploration.

Date: Mondays: October 5 through November 23 (no class on Monday, October 12)
Time: 10 a.m. - 11a.m.
Location: Frelinghuysen Arboretum, 353 East Hanover Avenue, Morris Township
Cost: $75 per child for 7 classes and includes Family Membership to The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum. If you are already a Family Member, the fee is $40. This program is held rain or shine.

Home-School Days: Tremendous Trees

Add plant science to your home-school curriculum! Hike the grounds of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum, observing seasonal changes and gathering leaves. Collect tree seeds to take home, and with detailed instructions, stating planning for next spring’s sprouting trees.

Apple Cidering at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center

You won’t want to miss the Apple Cidering Demonstrations at the Great Swamp. Help prepare and grind the apples by turning an old-fashioned cider press, learn interesting new facts about apples, and taste a delicious sample of fresh, homemade!

ArTboretum Mini-Camp

Students in 4th and 5th grade can explore the multi-cultural aspects of gardening and discover the beauty and science of nature. Activities include creating a bonsai, a bog garden, a Victorian fern planting, and a Japanese kokedama hanging plant in this one-day mini-camp.

Friday Night Skate with DJ Earl

Looking for something exciting to do this Friday Night? Then come to Mennen Sports Arena and skate the night away to the tunes of a DJ! Have a blast with your friends while the DJ plays the newest hits and some of your favorite throw-backs all with the bonus of theme-nights, giveaways, shout outs, and disco lights. Meet up with your friends or gather your family on the ice every Friday night for skating, arcade games, and great eats from the snack bar.

Teachers: Take advantage of our many excellent field trips that are close at hand and offer a wealth of educational experiences at affordable prices. Our lesson topics and objectives are closely correlated to the NJ Core Curriculum Standards as well as the most commonly taught science and social studies topics in local schools.
